I am a fan of brands. I like brands that stand behind a mission and create goals that are beyond just earning money. And because I believe we should know what we use, beyond reading the labels and ingredient tags I am starting this little rubric in the blog. Brand time, will be a monthly topic, that will cover a brand that I am using, and has impressed me, be it with great products or with campaign or mission. I will try to share with you the history and mission of the brand, their products and of course if they are running a campaign or activity that is great. I am an online marketing fan, and gladly I made that passion a profession, so an inspiring campaign is something that impresses me much.
History and Mission
The info is taken from the site and summarised a bit by me.
Moroccanoil’s story began when the co-founder, Carmen Tal, was traveling in Israel. After a color service that left her hair badly damaged, a friend brought her to a salon where she experienced an astonishing oil treatment. The result was that her hair instantly transformed from damaged to shiny, smooth and manageable.
Inspired by the incredible results, Carmen set out to share this unique oil treatment and its benefits with women around the world. At the time, oil treatments were unconventional for hair. She and her husband teamed up with a group of visionaries to perfect the formula. The result – they introduced Moroccanoil to the world.
Moroccanoil has become a haircare industry sensation. At the core of our success is quality. The formulas not only leave hair naturally smooth and shiny but also improve its actual condition to make it stronger with each use. Besides the Morrocanoil Treatment there are many other products for every type of hair.
Hair: Morroccanoil has a conditioner, shampoo, mask, lotion and oil treatment. For styling they carry everything from mouse, to hair spray, to scalp treatments, dryers and tools.
Body: The body products are ranging from pure argan oil dry oil, to body butter, showergel and hand cream. Even a candle.
The scent of Morroccanoil is amazing, so I would definitely not mind me a candle scented like this.
I have used the oil treatment, and have written about it several times in the blog since I started using it in my hair-care ritual in the summer. Right now it is one of two styling products that I am using, and I am loving the oil.
Causes and Activities
Inspirational women. Morroccanoil follows 6 extraordinary women, who are pursuing their passion and excelling in creating a better world around them. This was a cause that I am very passionate about, as I am all for empowering women and showing amazing stories that inspire action and interaction. #INSPIREDBYWOMEN is led by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as the ambassador of the initiative. What I am looking to find out is is this initiative going beyond these six ladies and are there going to be more inspirational stories.
The women’s empowerment by the brand continues as they are sponsors of the Variety Magazine Power of Women event. During the event, which was held in the beginning of October, several women were awarded for their philanthropical deeds – among these women are Jennifer Lopez, for her work in The Lopez Family Foundation, Jane Fonda on her work with GCAPP, Viola Davis on her work with Hunger Is and Reese Witherspoon on Malala Fund. Morroccanoil sponsored the event, and I was lucky enough to get some cool photos from the PRs of the brand, as I was very interested in it.
Have you used any of the Moroccanoil products?
Do you believe a brand should go beyond just a great product, but do good in some extra way?
I will be glad to read your thoughts in the comments!
