Valentino for GAP

November 23, 2010

I love the GAP! Always have, always will. It is simple and chic, yet street-smart and casual, which is the perfect formula for putting more and more GAP pieces in my closet. (and yes, here I should mention affordable too) So you can imagine my excitement when I read this morning that GAP is collaborating with Valentino for a capsule collection of 7 pieces to hit the stores . The reason- celebration of the first GAP opening in Milan.

The GAP x Valentino collection is military inspired, but yet highlights the typical Valentino femininity with signature ruffles. In an interview for the Telegraph the creative directors for Valentino,  Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Picciolii explain: ‘Valentino and Gap synthesise the current trend of combining luxury with basics. We wanted to mix traditionally high-end elements with Gap’s celebrated street style, to create couture looks with a contemporary attitude.’ Definitely beautiful, classy and affordable I must add, as the price-range is $100-$200. So yet another line-worthy adventure is on the map this Friday.
